DeMengie Fever!

Well, this is this is my creation from yesterday's transparency class with Michael DeMeng :

Here is the detail of the transparency (behind the optical lens at the bottom of the shot):

The class was just great, and I am really pleased with how my piece turned out. I was lucky in that my composition just fell into place on the day.

I picked up some great tips from Michael - I was particularly interested in the patina effects created with pain washes. Very good stuff. His alteration techniques and use of transparencies was really clever, and who knew that Liquid Nails would become an essential art supply!

I didn't get photos of everyone else's work because the battery in my camera died, but all the work created on the day was just fantastic, and it was great to catch up with so many ladies I haven't seen for a while.

I think that I will be doing more "ASS-emblage" in the future.

Your piece came together so smoothly - as if you already had it worked out in your head before you came. You should do more work in this style - you're really good at it.
